Meet the CareerMode
Dynamic Duo

CareerMode founders Donne Barnard and Maurice Aronstam’s paths crossed when they managed the psychology department of a prominent Pretoria high school, where they facilitated therapeutic and assessment interventions in the school. They both share a passion for career assessment and are known as a dynamic duo when it comes to career assessment and guidance due to their ability to bring together and integrate client and assessment information with suitable subject choice and career feedback.

We pride ourselves on ethical and professional practice, using standardised tools and an evidence-based approach to our assessment process. This ensures that our services are not only effective but also conducted with the utmost integrity and respect for our clients with valid and reliable assessment results and feedback.

Meet the Team

Donné

Donne completed her studies at the University of Pretoria and has been a registered educational psychologist since 2019. She has over 10 years experience working in counselling and psychometry contexts in schools. Currently she combines working in private practice with her involvement in CareerMode. She has experience training Master’s level students at the University of Pretoria in the practical implementation of career counselling assessment in South Africa.

Donne approaches career and subject choice assessments with an eye on the big picture. She aims to share her understanding of the world of work in the 21st century and the fast progression of career development with clients in an attempt to facilitate an effective career plan that can be practically implemented.

​

Donne’s expression of creativity shows her interest in fashion, journalism and art. These interests are incorporated into her guidance towards clients where she contributes creatively to their holistic career picture.

Maurice

Maurice completed his studies at the University of Pretoria and has been a registered counselling psychologist since 2010. Over and above experience in career assessment in private practice, he has previously been involved in training of Master’s level students in the career assessment module at the University of Pretoria. He continues to work in a high school setting where he acts as Head of the Psychology Department managing a team of three registered psychologists. He has a keen interest in sport psychology and has experience working with and touring with international teams and athletes.

Maurice uses his detailed eye and investigative nature to approach career and subject choice assessments as a unique problem to be solved. He uses his critical eye to always ensure quality and consistency in the assessment process.

​

If not psychology, Maurice would have excelled in a detail focused and creative occupation such as architecture. Currently his creativity and perfectionistic work ethic serves him well in the required investigative and evaluative skills of career assessment.
